In 2007 Blackie was injured to the point of death when he showed up at our place which is just outside town. It appeared he had been caught up in a rotary mower and as he was still a very young cat he had survived just long enough to reach our place. My wife could not stand to see him hurt as she boxed him up and took him to our vet and told Doctor Bill to try to save him but don't run up charges greater than $150. (This she did not tell me until some time later.) :-) A couple of weeks later here came our Doctor Bill, the vet, driving up to our place and delivered Blackie back to his new home, our small 7.5 acre ranch. It took Blackie over three months to completely recover from his injuries, but he turned out to be one of the best cats we have ever had. I have now fully recovered from the vet bill, also. Now Blackie is "my cat" as he follows me everywhere I go while I am on our ranch. -Bill
