On Friday, February 22, 2013, I went on another swamp walk. This one was also in the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve but in a different location from the one on Thursday.
On this walk, Guy Jacobs, a professional photographer, assisted in leading the walk with the park's biologist, Mike Owen.
This was another activity offered by the Museum of the Everglades during their week-long festival.
Mike Owen the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve Biologist
A back-lighted palm branch filled with interesting debris in this densely forested area where we walked.
Some new plant growth.
The mid-day light was high and filtering through the trees, so I had to convert this photo to black and white...
A resurrection fern.
A wild orchid; an early blooming species.
The joy of swamp walking is apparent on Mike Owen's face.
