Today I drove my car and parked at the Betzwood parking lot in Valley Forge National Park, then rode my Trek 7.5 Fx hybrid bike along the Schuylkill River Trail into Philadelphia..."one less car in Philly" today!
When I do these rides into Philly I always pick a gorgeous day and today was simply spectacular!
My purpose was to see the newly cleaned City Hall...they just took down the scaffolding recently and to see the new "paintbrush sculpture" north of City Hall at the Academy of the Fine Arts on North Broad Street.
When I ride through Manayunk I always ride up "the Wall", the infamous steep street that the pro riders climb 15 times during the National Pro Championship 156-mile race every June.
Also, I wanted to bike to the new South Street Bridge which offers one of the best views of the Philadelphia Skyline.
Today ended up being 52 wonderful miles of riding. It was a great day on the bike!
