"The Museum of The Everglades Ninth Annual Marjory Stoneman Douglas Festival". This is the tiny Museum of The Everglades.
However, when you really think of it, the true museum is out in the millions of acres that make up this unique, fascinating and living environment.
We love The Everglades!

The Museum offered five days of activities, many hands-on, mostly all free just requiring a sign-up, to celebrate this festival.

Some background:
Marjory Stoneman Douglas (April 7, 1890 – May 14, 1998) was an American journalist, writer, feminist, and environmentalist
known for her staunch defense of the Everglades against efforts to drain it and reclaim land for development.

We participated in three activities on Thursday, February 21, 2013:
(1) A Guided Tram Tour
(2) Otter John & His Wild Everglades Animal Presentation and...drum roll, please...
(3) A Swamp Walk at Gator Hook.
