February 6, 2013

Sometimes you have to change your route, your plans.
I was out riding around Marco Island on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 and late in the long mid-day ride
I decided to change my ending route, making it a little longer since it was such a nice day.

To my surprise I came upon an artist painting near the island's Yacht Club.
He was part of the "Wet Paint Live" fundraiser. He pointed me towards two other nearby working artists.
What great finds! It was such a pleasure talking with these three artists.

I thought, wow, you have the performing arts...live music, live dance, etc.
This event places paint artists in a performing stature.
Their work was to be auctioned that evening to raise money for a scholarship fund.

Here is a quote from MarcoIslandFlorida.com about this event:
On Wednesday morning, about 20 artists settled down in balmy weather at self-chosen points
all over Marco Island, the Isles of Capri and Goodland to produce en plein air works for the
sixth annual Wet Paint Live scholarship fundraiser.
