Fallingwater

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Fallingwater on July 4, 2013.
Tickets are required and buying ahead of your visit is recommended most times of the year.
Our tour guide was excellent and provided great background stories behind this famous architecturally unique home.
The home was built in the 1930s at the then astronomical price of $150,000!
Frank Lloyd Wright designed and built it late in his long career for the Kaufmann Family of Pittsburgh,
owners of an upscale department store. It was their country/mountain retreat!

Photography is not permitted in the home and anytime during the tour of the grounds.
Being the Fourth of July, it was very crowded with visitors with tours leaving every 10 minutes.
The bright sunny day provided a difficult photo exposure since there were always shadows and highlights, along with people, in every scene.

The best piece of advice came from the final tour guide we saw where the short video was shown at the end.
She invited us to come again, but to come in a different season since Fallingwater is a unique experience throughout all the seasons of the year.
