my plane from Buenos Aires to El Calafate |
first impressions of the glacier |
it was a beautiful sunny day |
the ice wall is over 60 meters tall |
and the area is surrounded by forrest |
which makes it even more interesting |
well, this blue tourist again... |
and the blue of the ice |
 there are several |
platforms, where one has a great |
 view over the area |
 the paths are made |
in a fantastic way, wish we had that in CH |
this was a trip with the boat |
to the other side of the glacier |
walking up to the ice |
 putting some spikes on |
and off we went for a walk |
 on the glacier |
well, there was almost traffic jam |
the dots are people, to put it in perspective... |
sometimes there was a lot of wind |
 which gave the place |
even a more interesting look |
donīt tresspass, well, who cares... |
holding a stranded ice block in my hand |
the path to the "beach" |
the cloud formation were just out of this world |
this was at almost 10pm in the evening! |
I was waiting to spend |
the night in the place |
when the stars came out |
the place became very magic |
especially, when the ice broke off and one could hear the sound |
 a photo at dawn |
and mixed with the startrails I captured |
at 6am in the morning |
when a fox passed by and the sun rose |
 amazing colours |
my little white Chevy I hired for the trip |
the redish warm colour was fantastic |
to take photos, and no one around... |
here some panorama shots I took |
almost as good as postcards, hey?! :-) |
and thatīs it for little Perito |
