Vendor at the Xmas Fair

Very photogenic guy. I took a few others at the fair, but this was my favorite.

On a technical note, this is another with the versatile 17-40. This has to
be one of my favorite lenses. (Really, there's not an "L" lens I have that
I don't love!) Some may complain a bit about the max f4 (or rather lack of
f2.8), but the only drawback I see is the quality of bokeh. I've given some
serious thought of late to adding the 17-55/2.8IS to my mix, but I just can't
imagine selling the 17-40. Hmm...perhaps a 35/1.4L instead? ;-)

(4/30/08) Surprising even myself, I sold my 17-40 and picked up the 17-55. There's
no doubt the new lens has some offerings the 17-40 didn't have: the 2.8 and IS.
However, the build quality for a $1000 lens is very disappointing and it lacks a
bit of the color rendition of the 17-40. Yeah, easily dealt with in PS, but still.
Is it wrong to want a 16-35L, 17-40L, 17-55 and a 35L? I think not... :-D Oh! and
the new Tokina 11-16/2.8!
