Renamed the Air Fest, the 2008 Air Show actually featured some real air show talent! The Canadian Air Force Snow Birds were there, a USAF C-17, A-10 and a CDF C-130 all showed up. As did the usual crop of biplanes and a Mustang. Sadly, that was about it, which is why I spent no time on the ramp. Maybe next year.
Also, I only shot Friday evening during the shorter "demo" show. I got there a bit late and so missed the biplanes. My spot was the same as the last two years except we were pushed back about 40 feet and a new fence had been erected in front of us - you can see it as some blur in a few shots.
Really, I'm unhappy about the quality of my shooting for this event and the subject matter. I just wasn't willing to bear the heat of the next day and I'd hoped the evening show would be cooler (it wasn't) and decent enough to get some good shooting (it wasn't). Like I said...maybe next year.
I'll be putting some more pics up soon and taking down some of these as the white balance seems to be badly off on a few. Sometimes moving from aRGB to the web produces unexpected results.
All of these were shot with the 40D and 100-400/4.5-5.6 L IS. Any blur is caused by my stupidity - I left it on one-shot AF. Sigh.
