Here is the long-overdue gallery of images shot at the 2008 NHL All Star Weekend in Atlanta, Georgia’s Philips Arena – home of the Atlanta Thrashers. The weekend was incredible. With the exception of a bump here and there, it was a dream come true.

We had the opportunity to meet players from across the league during the Red Carpet Event the day of the SuperSkills Competition, getting signatures and taking photographs.

With those two events on the same day, it was a tough act to follow for the NHL All Star Game the next day, but the Eastern Conference and Western Conference teams managed to put together an incredible game that was decided in the final minute on a goal by Boston Bruins forward Marc Savard (who previously played for the Thrashers).

I took all of the action shots below with my mother’s point-and-shoot, with the exception of nearly all the Red Carpet shots, which were taken by my uncle. Because of a camera glitch, many of my shots were taken at a very low resolution. That, coupled with my lack of interest in post-even Photoshopping may account for the occasional odd coloration or some pixelation. Too bad. Enjoy the photos anyway because, chances are, you weren’t there!
