Nice shot. Too bad you got many strange looks, but it's easy to dismiss that as a lack of appreciation for photography that goes beyond snapshots of family members. It is more troubling to encounter people who think you should be reported to the police for photographing something unusual, as if you represented a threat to society. The "homeland security" argument has been used a lot in the USA since 2001 to control the innocent act of taking pictures. Most such incidents involve errors of judgment on the part of the police or private security personnel. Keep shooting, no matter how many weird looks you get!
