Lesson 4 - Blue Snow finished

This is the second part of Lesson 4, using a new brush. I selected the chalk - variable chalk. I started by making a basic sketch, then painting in with shades of blue. Changing the paper texture from basic paper, used for sky and trees, to hot press for the ground snow. I liked the way the texture gave a snow effect. (This version is posted as the next painting) I saved this version. Reopened it and copied it to a new white canvas background. I added a new layer above the copy and using only the variable chalk brush in smaller sizes, variety of pressure and shades of green, I painted over the trees. With larger size brush added color to sky and snow. (changing from basic paper to hot press for snow) I used the eraser - pointed bleach 7, made size about 2.6 and used to make snow on trees and larger white snow in sky. I added plugin -glass distortion, softness 9.1, amt. l28 and varieance 6.95 to obtain the snow crystal effect. I dropped layers above canvas layer. Used eraser - erase all hard to make a rough edge on painted layer. Dropped all and saved in photoshop.

This is wonderful, Betty -- your instructions so explicit. Thank you!!! The card itself is beautiful.
