Yvonne - making of...

A few pictures about the making of "Yvonne", which by the way was great, great fun...
Please note that this images are not processed, so no color correction, sharpening etc. has been applied....

A word to the set up, I just used one external flash and one umbrella. It may sound strange but I do prefer simple set ups. It seems that everybody is trying to avoid shadows. People having at least 3 flash boxes or umbrellas set up to avoid shadows in the face, shadows in the background and so on. I reviewed a few 10.000 images the last month and those I liked more looked different from the now usual shadowless images. Images without shadows look often flat. I do not care about trends, I want to have shadows in my images as they gurantee a certain level of depth, a three dimensional look is what I like.
Nose shadows. Oh, uaaah, weee you got a feckin nose shadow. Ouch thats a no no in this semi pro world, dont ya know? Folks, forget all about rules, at least I dont care anymore. I spent hours and hours avoiding shadows, bought expensive stuff, measured the lighting in front of the model, in the background and I dont know where else. I had images with no shadows and most peole did like them. Only I thought they looked flat and bland....
I prefer that I like the images and I do less care what others think. And yes it still makes me proud if you say you like my images.... :)
