The red Coca~Cola car that is in the pictures with Kikos Fonseca's car that you have posted.. that red coke car is the same car as my yellow car at Laguna... it is chassis number 930 670 0171 and is one of the original 31 1976 factory 934's and was first owned by Georg Loos/Gelo Racing. I will attach the complete history of the car.. I have found some more info but have not updated this history in about a year... According to Jurgen Barth the car was fist owned by Loos and after placing second in class in the 1976 Le Mans 24 the car was sold to Claude Haldi. Still the car has a piece of the Henzeman's Eurpopean Championship for 1976 . Haldi raced the car from mid 1976 to mid 1978 . Lots of great drivers like Rienhold Joest and others. In 1978 Haldi sold the car to the Minister of Sports for El Salvador named Enrique Molins. Molins raced under the pseudonym of " Jamsal" . The car first raced at in Panama at Rio Hato and then it raced in 1978 at the SCCA Trans Am race known as the "Copa de Mexico" . Jamsal placed 6th in class . In 1979 the last race for the World endurance Drivers Championship was run in El Salvador . It was a 6 hour race and as three guys were within a few point of one another for the title this race would be the deciding factor. Don Whittington was in contention and with his brother Bill he teamed up with Jamsal in my car.. they won the race and Don Whittington won the title driving my car. The first race I know the car ran in the IMSA series was the 1980 Daytona Paul Revere. It's last race was the Miami GTO in 1986 . After running as a 935 in the GTX class in 1981 Jamsal did what a few other 935 driver did.. they converted the bodies back to the GTO class where they would have a better chance of winning class. So this car ran as a 935 from 1980 to 1981 and a 934 from 1982 to 1986 in the IMSA series.. but Jamsal would fly the car back and forth between the USA and Central America. The car was fully converted to 935 specs with upside down gearbox and suspension in 1982 and was also set up to run both 934 and 935 bodies.. running as a 934 in the US and as a 935 in Central America where the car was sponsored by the Central American Coca~Cola distributor. Car was also a Central American Champion numerous times.
This car has a very interesting history and is actually one of the most famous cars in Central America.. this guy was a "cowboy" , a hero to the people of Central America racing the gringos in the USA :)
