On Wednesdays we sometimes go to the local German meeting place, the Leon de Baviera. The last time -we went with our friend Olguita- we experienced an unusual event. As we were sitting around a table with mostly German guests, all of a sudden several body guards appeared and with them the president of the Federal Republic of Germany. He was on a state visit in Colombia, and Stefan, the owner of the Leon de Baviera, had convinced him that having a beer at his pub would be a good idea after the end of this day's official tour of duty. So, we had the unexpected pleasure of having the president, Horst Koehler, and his wife enjoying a beer or two at the table next to us.
