Jan Aalbers and Marie Aalbers-Leferink posing for this black and white photograph, but a more colourful image returns in my memory. I can still see recall the fuss about Mum's new dress for this special day and the colours were blue in different hues. Her silky rustling dress was a slate blue, while her straw hat was very dark navy blue as were the long gloves. The flower arrangement on her dress had a tinge of light sky colour and dusky pink.
