It took the enemy only five days to conquer The Netherlands. Rotterdam was flattened, the Grebbeberg defence line broken through and the Royal Family fled across the North Sea to England.
Germany lost 328 of 1024 planes deployed, these extreme high losses of troops and aircraft had direct consequences for the planned invasion of Britain.

On the way to school we were confronted with musical side of the enemy and rather impressed with all that fanfare and robust singing. The Kapellmeister had some keen young listeners that morning.
