Introduction - IRAN
After many years of curiosity about the art of Persian Carpets, I got the chance to visit Iran during the autumn 2006.
Scepticism and fear from family and friend was unnecessary.
It turned in to a fantastic experience of a holiday.
Tehran is a pulsing and exciting city wit a population of 14 million. The roads are good, but the traffic is crowded.
Flexibility is the only chance to survive in a chaotic situation.
The family’s time off, are spend around food and the primus in the parks or along the roads.
The city show big variation from the simple life to high luxury lifestyle.
It shows luxurious palaces, museums, mosques and daily business along the sidewalk.
In the huge bazaar with more than 10.000 “shops” and a tremendous big labyrinth, you will find everything……
Isfahan is a beautiful city with old bridges and other highlights.
At the big Imam Square you will experience brilliant old architecture and old handcraft
at the surrounding bazaar. You get peace of mind at the sunset when there is only a slight
stream of sunshine catching the dome of the mosques.
Persepolis is located to Shiraz, which Unesco has ranged as one of our important heritage.
Te Shiraz areas have lots of production of carpets from the Nomads by spinning and knotting.
Carpet knotting are also done in private homes and finished in local factories.
To be a pedestrian in Shiraz is in best case a very challenging thing,
– PlayStation in nothing compare to it.
There are very few tourists in Iran and you get big attention. It is a amazing country with lots of friendly, kind and charming people.
You really feel safe and welcome in Iran.
