There are two biological genders for Homo sapiens: male and female. They are
born in equal numbers however the males die at a much quicker rate. This
is due to greater risk taking behavior. The males can take greater risks because
their lives are of less value in the reproduction process. An individual male can
impregnate multiple females in a relatively short period of time whereas the
female can only carry a very limited number of children to term.
