I purchased a small bag of beetles at the bus station
in Siem Reap Cambodia. They would have been easier to
eat had they been smaller. The first one was tough to
get down but after that I was eating them like popcorn.
Yeah, those belastomatids are a prized snack in a lot of places, such as Thailand. Put on a stick and deep fried. Alive they can give you a pretty painful wound with their beak. Aquatic predators. Nice shot!
