These Homo sapiens will be married three hours from now. They
are both aged 30 years. Xu does not know it yet but she is
already pregnant. They will buy their first home with a small
amount of savings and some help from Xu’s family. The early
years of marriage will be financially difficult and they will
struggle to make mortgage payments. Chen will have several
promotions and Xu will start working 12 years after the baby
is born. They will trade up to a larger house and eventually
save enough money to put their daughter through college and
retire comfortably in the middle class.
