Olympus E-1

Sadly, I managed to drown my first Olympus E-1 in a Venetian canal late 2008 - they might have legendary build quality, but nothing short of military hardware would have survived that episode.

Despite obtaining a replacement E-3, I still secretly wished that one day I could own another E-1. And so fate intervened (again in Italy) where I found a secondhand E-1 whilst visiting Siena. The store had two so I cherry picked the best one, the condition being 95% as new. The output from it shown below belies the age of the camera :-)

Sure it may only have 5 megapixels, but there is something special about the colour response and tonality of the images it creates. Such a pity that Kodak sensors no longer populate Olympus DSLRs.
