$15-25 downtown, Los Angeles, depending where you park - $6 downtown, Pasadena (20 miles outside L.A.). BUT...in some places, if you spend a lot of money in nearby stores, you can get your parking validated. That means, getting some discount off the cost. Unless it's a pay-up-front, then you're sh*t out of luck. Great photo, btw.

In one particular car park in Windsor, the price of parking for 2 hours was over £4.00. It was a Sunday evening in peak season. Complete rip off! We went to find somewhere else to park!

Depends! Last week in Paris, I forgot to take a ticket, then a "nice policeman" left me a parking fine on my windshield. Price= 14 €

Here in Woking, England it costs 60p for the first hour. Roughly equal to one euro or dollar. However, my firm give me a free parking pass. It really hurts when I visit another town;-) Hurt really more when visiting Neuss, Germany. We managed to park our car overnight in a multi-storey car park that was locked up on Sundays. It cost us dear to get the car released on the Sunday morning, about £50 I think :-(

Seems your "totally uninspired" pic is inspiring a lot of comments ;-)

Anabela, in Stockholm it's 40 SEK (USD 5???) an hour. Haha, welcome to the proud capital.
Well at least the meter gives a nice photo.

Of course, reading the parketingsautomat tells me that it is in fact *NOT* Stockholm, but Växsjö. Not that I couldn't have done that before I hit "post" on that last message or anything :)

Ah .. memories of parking in Stockholm (although this may not be stockholm). In the 3 years I lived there I received 3 parking tickets - each for SEK500 or about US$80 (at the time).

Then I moved back to Ottawa where the parking was cheap enough downtown (about CA$3 for a couple of hours) but the parking ticket was only CA$12. I beat the odds often enough that it didn't bother me.

Now I live in Santa Rosa, California, where it costs US$1/hour to park but the ticket I received for being 1 minute late back to a meter last month was $25.

The airport here is $1 per 30 minutes. That's the only place I ever pay to park.

hmmm...depends on the place we want to park; if it's a high use area we could pay over a dollar an hour. In addition, there are private parking facilities that charge whatever the traffic will bear. Does Sweden have the cleanest public facilities, or what? This would be beat up and fairly dirty here in the US shortly after being installed.
