This 26 photo, 160 degree plus panorama was taken from the saddle just below Cedar Ridge near the South Kaibab trail. The view encompasses the South Rim face to the south (photo left), the Tonto platform below due west (photo center) and O'Neil Butte to the north (photo right). This particular day saw near-record temperatures on the South Kaibab (the thermometer at the Cedar Ridge toilets was maxed out at 130F all day). The next day a hiker was airlifted out from the trail just above O'Neil Butte.
