Made a day trip to the Smokies for the purpose of testing a new camera and a new SUV (the old gray battleship is history). The area I was in hasn't had a good rain for some time and the temp has been in the high 80-low 90s. Fields away from woodline shade still green but out in the sun not much to eat. Wetlands in great condition and the regular streams flowing with rain-creeks dryable. But for a few hours very production for the non-tourist wildlife (butterflies, flowers and birds) great. Two bears mobbed with city folks and a couple of doe wandering before the sun burns the shade. A good quick trip that may become a habit.
