When viewing the nest from a distance of 400 plus yards and at an upward angle....it is easy to overlook an important fact about the Eagles at Wheeler. Instead of one eaglet....there are actually two of them. From watching the adult eagles it would appear that they are determined to not let either one of them harm the other or leave them alone for any period of time. While one chick is smaller than the other, it would appear that there was a period of a week or two before the last egg hatched. It will be interesting to see if both make it to the teenager stage of being an Immature Bald Eagle.
