My last assignment shield before entering the Enviromental Auditing stage of my life's journey. Looking at one of my walls I have several shields and indentification cards used for assignments and other governmental entities I have served. As a "Assistant Chief"...my duties were to improve the current department into a more performance and service unit within the University family. The object of any offical police department is to protect the students yet assist in the molding of the students into honorable contributing adults. The work continues but hopefully and with the seeds...through improved operation directives..have been planted and that department is no longer considered a place for "badge heavy" officers who violate a student's rights for peace, safety, respect, and harmony in campus living just to prove they have an implied authority to do so.
