Along life's journey I had the honor to assist in the evaluation of our public education system at the High School level for the topic of science. A group (comprised of educators, industrialists, researchers, and public servants) developed a report after auditing actual school work of 8th, 10th, and 12th grade students that was randomly obtained across our Nation's schools systems. After many hours of arguments, discussions, reality checks and final decision a report was compilede an was sent to Washington as a qualified set of guidelines and needed changes in the manner and style our youth are educated. Some of the points were implimented over the next 12 years but still much work is needed to prepare our youth to stand on their own and be successful in a world market setting.
