As I have written my ancestors played many roles during the War for Independence for England, the War Between the States, and other smaller/larger wars. This photo is of a group of local men long since retired from the military who acted as scouts for the Union army. I am told that some are relatives. These old men would gather with the confederate old men to honor all those men and women who gave their lives for their beliefs during that American internal war. Honor is that frail substance that allows men to give their life for a cause and in time give respect to those who opposed them if those people's convictions respectful in a like manner.
