While photographing river wildlife, I heard an old familar sound from the past and at once knew it was a bit of history even before looking up. A B17 Flying Fortress was overhead. Later I found out that in Decatur there had been a "pay for a ride" airshow displaying many vintage WWII airplanes and offering rides for a hefty price. While not getting a ride, the visual pleasure was very worth the damp cold morning in my boat with very little to show in photographs (except the usual suspects list) but these of a time in flying with it was fun, benifical to our Nation and the World.
