Wheeler Alligators

Along the Tennessee River between Huntsville and Decatur, Alabama, is the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge within that refuge are alligators. These creatures live back in the marshes and help keep the muskrat/beaver populations in check. This alligator settlement maybe the furtherest northern population in Alabama.

Saw a 10ft gator at the mouth of the indian river at the triana dock/boat launch last night (5/19/15)

At least 2 gators have been spotted (2003,2008) on the WEST side of the train bridge at Decatur.

There are numerous area's on Wheeler Lake that have gator populations. The biggest are on the south side of Redstone Arsenal property near Triana
