The Oregon Trail Today

The Oregon Trail, 2100 miles long, was named a National Historic Trail by Congress in 1978. Only about 20% of the trail is left today and about 10% of that is on national forest land. I thought it'd be fun to try to find what few traces are left.
Using "THE OREGON TRAIL REVISITED" by Gregory M. Franzwa as a guide, I hope to keep adding many more images.
I'd love hearing from "rutnuts" and others who enjoy exploring the Oregon Trail.
24 AUGUST 2006: My time of searching for the Oregon Trail is about done. It was challenging to find many of these places. Stumbling upon them accidently describes best how several of the sites were found.
Through it all I have come away with deep and renewed admiration for what these emigrants endured and what they accomplished in their journey to Oregon.
