Located at 7000' at Kitt Peak National Observatory, this VLBA is one of 10 radio telescopes across the U.S. They all simultaneoulsly collect extremely faint radio signals from objects in space. Tapes of daily signals are sent to Socorro, NM to be analyzed by scientists. This particular VLBA was involved in researching the Big Bang Theory.
You can drive up to the top of Kitt Peak and visit all the telescopes on the site. Tours are offered daily for $5.00.
