The scene here encapsulates Amercia's transportation history showing the C & O Canal on the Maryland side of the river and the B & O Railroad on the WV side. Construction on both started on the same day in 1828....Over the years, the view from here has been lauded by many including: NATURAL HISTORY OF NEW YORK rates it the 5th finest view in the US.
I must say it was a beautiful sight but on this day the air was very heavy with moisture and haze. I look forward to returning and seeing it at its finest.
