Multnomah Falls

Near Troutdale on the Historic Columbia River Highway

Visited by over 2 million people a year, it's the second highest year-round waterfall in the US and one of 77 on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge. Multnomah Creek, created by underground springs from Larch Mountain, feeds the falls dropping 620 feet.
The bridge shown was built in 1914 by Simon Benson, a prominent businessman and owner of the falls at that time.
Before his death, Mr. Benson gave the falls to the City of Portland. Portland later transferred its care to the US Forest Service.
