Steam Pump Ranch

Near Oracle Road and 1st Ave.

Tucson voters recently approved a bond that will save about 2 acres and 2 original adobe buildings from the one of the last remaining ranch complexes in the county dating back to the 1870s. One of its founders was George Pusch, who came to Arizona from San Francisco by wagon and mule team. Pusch was a former state legislator and delegate to the original Arizona Constitutional Convention in 1910.
The ranch is located in Oro Valley and at least one of the adobe structures is visible from the road. The ranch used to pump water for travelers.
