The oldest continuously operating trading post on the Navajo Reservation. Bought by John Lorenzo Hubbell in 1876, he served as a Navajo interpreter and had a repuation of being fair and honest with everyone. He and his sons owned over 24 trading posts in New Mexico and Arizona. When Arizona became a state in 1912 he was elected one of its first senators. He's buried on Hubbell Hill behind the trading post.
Highly recommended stop on the road to Canyon de Chelly and Monument Valley.
