Entrance to Hacienda Del Sol #2

5601 N. Hacienda del Sol

Nestled close to the Santa Catalinas on 34 acres, this beautiful Tucson landmark was owned by Helen an d John Murphey. From 1929 to 1948 it served as a "girls only" school. Pillsbury, Vanderilt, Kellogg, Maxwell, Spalding, and Campbell are among the prominent families who sent their daughters here.
In the late 1930s Swiss architect, Josias Joesler, was commissioned to rebuild areas of the Hacienda damaged by fire.
The Hacienda was bought by a group of Tucson investors who have restored it to its former glory.
