We have made several trips to the Parabano Falls so far in 2006. The falls are about 60 km south of Angostura along the front range of the Andes in Santa Cruz, Boliva. It takes about 18 hours to do the trip in one day (8 hours driving and 10 hours hiking). Local people told us they did not know of anyone from outside the community ever visiting the falls. There are six or eight falls in the area, the largest of which is about 200 feet high. In February, I went with a local resident and a group of mission volunteers to the top of the highest falls. In March I returned with my brother and a few friends and we hiked all the way up the river to the base of the largest falls.
