Different Pines

When I was a child, my family would spend a long weekend in the fall in the Adirondack Mountains.
We'd usually go with one of my father's cousins (named Jim) and his family. One year, cousin Jim
decided that his daughter, my brother and I should learn about the different types of pine trees.
I remember searching for them in the forest (blue spruce, balsam fir, eastern white pine,...).
Afterwards, we gave a presentation on them to the adults. The smell of pines always takes me back to that day.

I love seeing those de-seeded by the various small mammals that look to autumn for their food store

Very nice shot with these details. We used to collect these as children to give to the deer when there was a lot of snow. "V"
