September Challenge: "September in 'Your' Life"

Apples have always played an important part of my life.
While growing up, the delicious aroma of
fresh-cooked applesauce was in the air.
Apple cider and other apple ventures were prevalent.
Today there's even an apple winery.

I grew up in one of the major apple-growing areas in the US.
My parents and brother have a 28-acre orchard of many varieties.
You'd think that I'd know this variety but I'm not certain...
I think it's an Empire apple but the tree is an older tree
(they now grow dwarf trees which are more compact)...
even my father thinks Empire so that's what I'm going with!
