This may not seem impressive, but if you were to enlarge the little plaques on the tree you would see that it is almost 1,000 years old. The plaque in the middle is when the tree germinated, and on the outer edge, the plaque is dated for the year 1906. Each plaque lists a different historical event which would have been occurring at the time listed on the plaque. The diameter of the tree is more than 6 feet (1.8 meters).
