Daniel Chester French was an American sculptor. His best-known work is the sculpture of a seated Abraham Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Chesterwood in Stockbridge, Massachusetts was his summer home and studio. Although photography is not permitted in the studio the gardens and woodlands provided photo opportunities. Also there was no rule against shooting through windows and open doors :-)).
The Berkshire Botanical Garden and Norman Rockwells Studio and Museum are just a stones throw away.
