Dam Trestle

Heres one I'm not sure about. First, I think "yea, that’s alright", then look at it again and think "humm, maybe too much".
Juries still out on this one.

This is shot from inside the train, through the window of the car that is 3rd back from the engine. Not having a tripod, I've pressed the camera up to the window (using the frame to get an angle out) and taken shots at various shutter speeds. 1/2 second is as slow as you can go to get 1 in 10 sharp, as the engine rocks back and forth on the old non-welded rails. NO PP on this besides burning back in some color washed out by the tinted window it was shot through and cropping to get rid of a refracted window frame on the left - the motions 100% real and straight out of the camera.

Canon EOS 1D Mark II N
1/2s f/16.0 at 70.0mm iso125 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Wow, I love a shot looking almost surreal without any gimmickry involved. It's a perfect illustration of relative motion and adds the fourth dimension of time. Very well done! -v-

Dude - it looks cool as is - one expects some action on a train and they're crazy if they don't even welded heavy rail (i.e. the Toronto-Montreal coridor). Well done on the treatment to re-establish colour loss as well.

at 1/2 sec i cant see this being PP - or is it? I like it - as long as its SOOC... But even if its not, its still cool! My final answer is... I like it - it gives me the vertigo feeling of flying beside the train. Ahhh yes, I have fond memories of flying beside trains. Nice clean windows and... I mean - Great shot Brad!!!
