No this is not a new design, it was just cleaned using an electrolysis process. There are two styles of Sells handles, one with a short guard as this one and one with a longer guard that covers the teeth better. They work good and stay tight.

is this a new design that is available? the metal looks fresh. i like that there is no outboard wing nut. does it stay tight ?
