On June 20th Lewis County BCH members worked on clearing windfalls that were blocking trails in the area of Packwood Lake, Gifford Pinchot NF. Some chainsaws were used in the non-wilderness areas and crosscuts were used in the wilderness areas. Transportation from the trailhead to the lake was via ATV, horse and mule and one bicycle.

Blocking windfalls along the lake were cleared as well at the non-wilderness part of the Packwood Lake trail from Packwood Lake up the hill toward Lost Lake. There still are some windfalls near the end of the lake but they can be stepped over. Also hikers reported that the trail was washed out up lake creek.
