On March 5 – 8, 2016 the Lewis County Chapter of BCHW rented a 16,000# excavator for work on the 2750 road. This road provides access the Goat Creek Trailhead and funding was provided by a Recreational Trails Program grant. Bernie Stratton operated the excavator and one or two chapter members were onsite to help with hand work and locate culverts. A total of seven clogged culverts were cleared and some rough grading was completed to fill in washed out ruts in the road surface. Some of the culverts were clogged during a severe storm in December 2015 and some had been clogged for years and maybe even decades. Also some water bars were added to help prevent water from running down the wheel tracks.
