NGC 7380, Sh2-142

NGC 7380 is an open star cluster within the diffuse nebula Sh2-142 and can be seen in the direction of the constellation Cepheus. It is about 5,000 light-years from us and is about 110 light-years in length. It is sometimes called the Wizard Nebula and, oriented differently, the Flying Horse Nebula. It is fluorescing in red due to radiation from the nearby young star cluster. The cluster has formed in the last 5 million years, a very short time in cosmological terms. (Credit: Wikipedia)
