2011 05 24 Three species on a dying White oak 7643

The numerous all black beetles are believed to be Oiceoptoma inaequale - the Ridged Carrion Beetle.
Beetles with red-margined thoracxes are Oiceoptoma noveboracense - the Margined Carrion Beetle.
The larger round beetle with the yellow thorax with black spot on it is Necrophilus americana - the American Carrion Beetle.

Red 'dots' seen on several of the beetles are mites.
