'The Sculpture' was created by Herman Keith, Jr. to commemorate
the five Black men lynched in Anderson County, South Carolina:

Mr. Edward Sullivan - 1894
Mr. Elbert Harris - 1898
Mr. John Laddison - 1901
Mr. Reuben Elrod - 1903
Mr. Willis Jackson - 1911

Each period glass Mason type jar contains soil from the lynching site for each of the five men.
